SCHAUDEPOT AND MUSEUM FÜR GESTALTUNG

With

Angeli Sachs, Sibylle Stoeckli and Christian Horisberger

Inspired by a DIY-furniture collection from the 1970s, which was originally designed by Enzo Mari for the Autoprogettazione project, Depot Basel commissioned the designers Christian Horisberger and Sibylle Stoeckli to draft a contemporary DIY-chair for the project 05 Seats in 2012.

In a talk with the two designers and Angeli Sachs, curator of the exhibition Do It Yourself Design at Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, Depot Basel would like to reflect on the current usage of resources, on the idea of Open-source and on the practice of questioning historical drafts from a contemporary perspective.

The talk takes place in cooperation with Museum für Gestaltung Zürich and is initiated on the occasion of the exhibition Do It Yourself Design,  Toni-Areal, Schaudepot Süd, 20th of March – 31st of May 2015.
