Concept and Implementation

Aline Stalder, Nadine Cueni und Simone Steinegger

Depot Basel serves as an initial situation for the project Depotreise by Aline Stalder, Nadine Cueni and Simone Steinegger, students (final year) of Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst, Institut Fine Arts in Basel. The project is an initiative of the students that desired to conduct a project outside of the institutional framework. It is supported by the Institut Fine Arts and Depot Basel.

The three artists will explore the interior and exterior space for several days and use it as a workshop for experimental work such as drawing, photography, video, objects and installation. The project’s focus is put  on the process and not on the production of a specific ‘finished product.’ Everything is created locally, inspired by the location and related to the space. What will happen  exactly is left open, you can follow the process on the project blog.

The results and achievements that have arisen in and out of the experimental work will be processed and assembled into an installation or stage set: An ‘exhibition in process’ will take place: There will be something new and different to explore every day for the visitors. The Depotreise will end with a retrospective finissage.

The intention is to engage in a dialogue with people passing by as well as with exhibition visitors.
